July 7, 2010 (Toronto) - The SPORT4ONTARIO Board of Directors is pleased to announce the release of the third round of the Sport4Toronto Fund. This program provides funding to eligible organizations within the City of Toronto.
In the fall of 2008, SPORT4ONTARIO was granted permission by the City of Toronto Bingo Lottery Program to distribute funds directly to qualifying sport organizations through a dedicated program – the Sport4Toronto Fund.
The Sport4Toronto Fund is administered by SPORT4ONTARIO and provides grants to eligible organizations to support athlete development in the City of Toronto including, but not limited to, access to facilities and services, equipment, registration and coach development. The purpose of these grants is to enhance the experience of athletes by supporting organizations to provide better services and opportunities for athletes.
In this round of funding, the Sport4Toronto Fund will provide grants of up to $3,000 to eligible nonprofit or charitable organizations working to increase access and participation in sport as described above. These programs must focus on athletes under 18 years of age at the start of the sport season or on athletes with a disability. A maximum of $15,000 is allocated to this round of funding.
